Can I use the mason jars and lids I already have?
Yes. The Kalda Jar Sealer works with any standard regular- or wide-mouth mason jar — Ball, Kerr, or store brand. Use the 10 included vacuum lids, or your own store-bought canning lids with the included lid adaptor. If it has a lid, it seals.
How long does it take to seal a jar?
30 to 60 seconds. Set the Kalda on top of the lid and press the button once — it pulls the air out and stops automatically when the jar is vacuum-sealed.
What foods can I preserve with it?
Dry goods, pantry staples, snacks, and fridge prep: bulk rice, flour, oats, beans, pasta, coffee beans, nuts, crackers, cereal, spices, dehydrated fruit, fresh berries, cut greens, and pet food.
Can I use it for canning?
It is designed for everyday vacuum storage (dry pantry storage and refrigerator freshness), not heat or pressure canning. Do not use dry-vacuum sealing as a substitute for water-bath or pressure canning of shelf-stable wet foods.
How does it charge and how many seals per charge?
It charges via the included USB-C cable with any standard phone or wall charger. A single full charge powers dozens of seals, so you can portion out an entire pantry haul without recharging.
Will it keep pantry moths, weevils, and moisture out?
